JUNIOR COACHING
Our Junior Coaching scheme started in July 2004 and the number of kids attending continues to grow (with numbers regularly in the low twenties).
WHEN AND WHERE
We run throughout the year (Sunday afternoons 2.30-4pm) at Hitchin Boys School Sports Centre (and only cancel the sessions very infrequently, so usually we have 44+ sessions per year.
EQUIPMENT
Players have access to 12 tables (maximum) on 2 badminton courts and we can accommodate a maximum of 24 kids (comfortably) or slightly more if required.
COST
Sessions cost £2.50 each and a payment system using numbered tickets is in operation. Minimum purchase per child is 9 tickets (£22.50) and these tickets have no expiry time. Payment should be by cheque and where possible purchased on the first Sunday of each month.
COACHES
We have 1 qualified ETTA Level 2 coach and Guest coaches are invited from time to time.
COMPETITIVE PLAY
We encourage kids who are sufficiently talented and interested to aspire to playing competitively in various competitions including North Herts Table Tennis Association League, National Cadet League and National Junior League.
ADULT COACHING
Currently we do not have any formal adult coaching sessions at the club but David Kells is looking into the possibility of starting a small scale (maximum 9 persons) multiball-based coaching session during the Summer period (how often and which night(s) this will take place is to be decided.
